I downloaded 'OwnersManual.pdf' from a Garmin website before ordering, as I like to know what the documentation is going to be like before I buy. It says that it is for 'Nuvi 700 Series', but it doesn't match my 760.
For example, I got into GPS Simulation mode (there was no signal where I first turned it on). The manual said to go:
Settings -> System (in order to turn 'Demonstration' off)
... but there is no 'System' under settings on my device.
I eventually found the 'GPS Simulator' under Settings->Navigation, but I have other issues where my documentation is plain wrong, and I cannot work out how to perform some pretty basic functions, such as saving a location as a favourite...
Does anyone know of a downloadable manual that is a better fit with the 760LMT-D ?

- edited April 2014You unit is essentially an RV 760LMT but with (seemingly) camper capabilities (likely either an extra database or some other camper-related features).
Regardless, here is the owner's manual for the RV 760/Camper 760:
http://static.garmincdn.com/pumac/RV_760_OM_EN.pdf - Thanks for the link to the correct manual.
Hopefully I'll be able to answer all but the harder questions for myself, now.
I don't know if my unit has anything more than the RV 760. The main feature (beyond a standard SatNav) is that I've registered my vehicle's dimensions and weights. This is used to avoid sending me down narrow lanes or over weak bridges... I'll have to deploy one of the onboard bicycles if it comes to that. - I believe 'camper 760' and 'RV 760' are the same. Garmin has used both names for them - probably just a marketing thing. In fact, Rich and I discussed this in the comments to his article over at GPSTrackLog...Boyd Ostroff says:

Hey Rich… did you notice that there is no longer a Garmin “RV760LMT”?
Now it’s called the “Camper 760LMT” https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/on-the-road/camper/camper-760lmt-d/prod135455.html
But when you go to that page there’s a dropdown for “Version” and the only choice is “RV760LMT”. I assume this is just a name change, and not actually a new model?

I think you’re right, it’s probably just a name change. I believe it’s the same name they went with in the UK.

Ha! It’s back to RV760LMT! - The specifications that I've found don't include the maximum capacity of the microSD card.
I read somewhere that the limit is 8Gb (you can install a larger capacity card, but only 8Gb will be used).
The updated EU maps that I installed were about 5Gb, and the microSD card was necessary to install them. But might the 8Gb limit cause problems at the next update?
I get the impression that my SatNav is now running from the maps on my SD card. If I'd known that was going to happen, I may have bought a faster card than the Class4 that I have. Would this help, and if so, can I just replace the SD card with a faster one? This would seem to involve going through a period where the device had no maps at all, and I've seen documentation saying that it won't work in this configuration. Obviously, it won't work as a GPS with no maps, but will it be able to recover, by re-installing the maps? - 8Gb should be fine. The full EU map is only around 3Gb in size.
- I agree that the EU map is around 3Gb, but the file that was downloaded whilst updating it was 5Gb. So now I have a 3Gb maps file on the card, and a file that will probably be larger than 5Gb at the next update... it will be interesting to see where it all fits!
- Some of that will be updates to junction views, voice files etc. They will be on the nuvi itself. Your 8Gb card will probably last longer than your nuvi.
Not likely to make any difference. The class ratings are for write speed and the Nuvi is just reading from the card.If I'd known that was going to happen, I may have bought a faster card than the Class4 that I have.
Now I believe that the Nuvi can access data faster from internal memory than a card however. I make my own very complex maps, and if I put them on a card they just choke the device such that it can't draw the map fast enough. The same map works fine in internal memory.
We have a couple threads here where some people say they can see a difference in performance with City Navigator on a card vs internal memory. But other people disagree....- Hello, fellows
77 years old American emigrant to Portugal just got Garmin 760 Camper . I printed out the owners manual. My first impression. The manual mostly states what the unit can do, but I am interested in HOW TO DO THIS and THAT. Actually I need a tutorial. I put in my motorhome dimension and weight, gave a profile name. Now I want to enter the destination as address, as GPS coordinates, etc. How can I proceed? Are there any tutorials for this unit on the Internet? Thanks in advance. Ark - edited June 2014You would need to press Where To? from the main menu screen (the screen at appears when you turn the GPS on). That will open a screen where you can tap on various icons the address of your destination, or co-ordinates of your destination, and a few other icons for looking up and entering destinations.
Here is a video tutorial that will explain it better:
